Alan Brittan - Vice President, Exploration
Alan Brittain's interest in geology began with a child's curiosity about the rocks on his parent's farm in rural Indiana. His wonder and questions would eventually lead him to the position of Vice President of Exploration at O'Brien Energy Company.
As O'Brien's chief geologist, Alan is responsible for generating prospects, and analyzing and recommending new areas of exploration as well as recompletion possibilities.
Alan's career in petroleum geology encompasses nearly three and a half decades of oil and gas exploration and development, beginning at Hunt Energy in Houston, Texas, and continuing through 21 years of managing all geological positions for Crow Interests in Shreveport, Louisiana. Alan joined O'Brien Energy as a result of the company's merger with Crow Interests, coming on board as Vice President of Exploration in 2000.
Alan holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana, and a Master of Science in Geology from The University of Indiana in Bloomington. He is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and the Shreveport Geological Society.
