Jason Warren - Senior Vice-President & Chief Accounting Officer
Jason Warren joined O'Brien Energy Company as Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Office in July, 2009. He began his career in accounting as a staff auditor, then a senior auditor with the firm Heard McElroy & Vestal. Jason then served as Supervising Senior at KMPG, LLC (formerly KPMG Peat Marwick) from 1999 to 2002. There he was the senior auditor for the Murphy Oil audit and numerous oil and gas related entities. He then took the position of Senior Manager at Roberts, Cherry & Company where he was an Audit Manager and headed up the Firm's Business Valuation engagements. During his time with Roberts, Cherry, he was part of the team that conducted O'Brien Energy Company's audits. That experience provided him keen insights into O'Brien's business and accounting structure.
As Chief Accounting Officer, Jason is responsible for all financial accounting and reporting and tax reporting for O'Brien Energy and its affiliates.
In addition to his experience in oil and gas accounting, Jason acquired valuable leadership experience as an officer in the Louisiana National Guard. He rose to the rank of Captain, and served a one-year tour of duty in Baghdad as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom, earning the Combat Medic Badge and the Meritorious Service Medal for his contribution to the military effort.
Jason Warren holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana. He is presently engaged in the Masters of Business Administration program at Louisiana State University-Shreveport. He holds the designations of Certified Public Accountant and Certified Valuation Analyst. Jason is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants, and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts.
